If you are using the TTT with a kettle style grill, you want to use the retaining clips to secure it to the lid. These are not necessary but are a convenient accessory.The clips may NOT be recommended if the TTT was ordered with Akorn hanger, 2 inch wide band or the small and large vent adapter.
